Atlassian Intelligence has become a reality
2023 has undoubtedly been the year of Artificial Intelligence and Atlassian was not going to be less.
In April, on the international event in Las Vegas (Team 23), Atlassian team have anounced all the AI news: Their vision of how to integrate artifitial intelligence to the Atlassian suite. In this article that we puiblished some time ago, we´ve already known what could be done in the beta version and what should we expect from this new teammate. After many months of trials (more than 20K clients have tested beta version) and conversations with the community, Atlassian Intelligence is now a reality for all the users
Specially on the last week in Amsterdam, during the Unleash event, dedicated to agile and devops teams, its general availability has been anounced.
As always, here it is a summary with the most important information and the most relevants details for you to be up to date and take advantage of all the products.
How to activate Atlassian Intelligence?
First of all and the most important thing is activating Atlassian Inteligence on your instance to start using it.
To do that, follow this steps:
- Enter the administration of the instance: admin.atlassian.com and select your organization if you have more than one
2. Go to the general settings and select “Atlassian Intelligence”
3. Choose in wich product do you want to activate it: Confluence, Jira Service Manamengent, Jira Software, Compass, Bitbucket, Atlass…
4. You can activate it whenever you want to.
The funstionalities for every product are different, so here it is a summary with the most importants of them:
Atlassian Intelligence in Confluence
- Summary of pages and Blogs: You can earn much time and effort with automatic summaries. Ask to Atlassian Intelligence to summarize the whole page or the content of a blog in Confluence.
- Give an answer of every search: Confluence understand your question and gives you an answer as it was any of your teammates.
- Definition of words: If you don´t have so claer the meaning of any term in your documentation, Confluence can give you its meaning in seconds.
- Generate and transform content: not just make new content for pages or making summaries. It is also able to make the content easier to understand for everyone.
- Create automation rules: You just have to describe what do you want to be automatized and Atlassian Intelligence will create the rule for you.

Atlassian Intelligence in Jira Software
- Advanced search: Find any task using a simple search instead of complex JQL sentences. The AI will translate these simple sentences into JQL querys to help you finding any task.
- Generate and transform content: As it happens in Confluence. The AI is able to make easier to understand the content of every users and teams.

Atlassian Intelligence in Jira Service Management
- Automatic Replies: The AI can search on your knowledge base and reply to your clients in a Slack channel, for example.
- Suggest request types: If you want to create a new project on Jira Service Managment, Atlassian Intelligence will help you decide which request types you should add. You just need to describe your type of project and AI will give you the best option.
- Summarize an issue details: To help the agents to understand the details of an issue, we can make a summary to quickly understand the context, and we don´t have to waste our time reading all the comments.
- Generate and transform content: Same than Jira Software or Confluence.

Remember that…
We already told you that Atlassian Intelligence uses rich text and can understand the data context of the entire company. It works across all cloud products and you can even create actions and assign them directly to team members.
While Atlassian has long relied on machine learning and large language models, it now combines them with real data to get the most out of its work.
It is only available in Premium and Enterprise Cloud licensing, of course.
