Atlassian increases Cloud pricing
Atlassian has just announced that on October 16th, will raise the prices of several of its Cloud products: Future Cloud pricing.
This price increase will impact:
- Jira
- Confluence
- Jira Service Management
- Opsgenie
- Atlassian Guard
- Bitbucket
- Compass
As always, to quantify and minimize the impact on your Cloud platform, we will conduct a thorough personalized assessment, considering various factors related to your subscription: monthly or annual billing, expiration dates, version of each product, potential user expansions, etc.
This move, far from surprising, is quite predictable, as Atlassian has established a pattern of annual price increases, much like other software manufacturers. It is becoming increasingly evident (though it is not a written rule) that there are two key dates marked on the calendar: Data Center prices are updated at the beginning of the year, and Cloud prices at the end.
The big novelty accompanying this announcement is the update regarding certain features available in the different versions of Jira Service Management (Standard, Premium, and Enterprise).
The most significant changes are:
Jira Service Management Standard
The following features will only be available in the Premium and Enterprise plans:
- Incident conference calls and chat tools.
- Major incidents.
- Post-Incident Reviews.
- Change work category.
- Change queues.
- Change calendar.
- Automated risk assessments.
- Integrations with CI/CD tools.
- System-level change automation rules.
- Problem work category.
- Problem queues.
If you use any of these features, you will have a 12-month grace period to upgrade your version.
Jira Service Management Premium and Enterprise
The following features will move to a consumption-based model:
- Assets objects.
- Virtual Agent-assisted conversations.
JSM Premium / Enterprise | Assets objects | Virtual Agents |
---|---|---|
Included | 50,000 per site | 1,000 per month |
Extra | $0.05 USD per object per month + volume discounts | $0.30 USD per assisted conversation per month + volume discounts |
Customers nearing these new limits will have a 12-month grace period at current prices. After that, they will benefit from a 3-year plan with reduced pricing.

What are TecnoFor’s recommendations?
Analyze your particular case as soon as possible
Every Atlassian platform is different, and there may be several scenarios available to you. At TecnoFor, we will help you determine the optimal scenario for your licenses.
Can you renew your contract early?
Atlassian allows some customers, those with less than 90 days remaining on their contract, to renew early. If they do so before October 16th, they will still lock in current prices. It will even be possible to renew for 24 months, securing these conditions through the end of 2026.
Are you considering expanding users on any of these products?
Obviously, this is the ideal time to do so. The only requirement to secure the current price is to complete the expansion before October 16th.
This announcement has been filled with new information, and some scenarios may seem complex. But once again, the TecnoFor Licensing team has done its homework and is ready to answer all your questions and help you find the best possible solution.
