All the highlights from Atlassian Team ’25
A couple of weeks ago, Atlassian Team ’25 took place in Anaheim, California — the annual event where Atlassian unveils all the latest updates to its ecosystem: new apps, beta features, integrations… but more importantly, where partners, customers, and the Atlassian team come together to discuss the direction of the ecosystem, the changes on the horizon, and the structural shifts and new paradigms that are now on the table.
The TecnoFor by SNGULAR team was there to bring you all the highlights, straight from the source. So let’s get into it!
You might not have seen this image yet — but it holds all the key ideas Atlassian is betting on this year.
The Atlassian Cloud Platform, as we knew it, has completely changed. We’re no longer working with isolated products. Instead, our day-to-day will revolve around connected apps — all within a single unified cloud platform, where accessing information and interacting across tools is easier than ever.
At the heart of it all? Rovo. AI is now part of the team — embedded into our workflows, supporting us, and enabling seamless interactions that are more essential than ever.
But let’s break this down step by step. 😇
A Cloud platform that fits you
Yes, it’s now customizable for different needs. The Commercial Cloud we knew is no longer the only option.
For example, U.S. government agencies are now testing Atlassian Government Cloud — a purpose-built environment designed to reduce risk.
Next year, we’ll also see the release of Isolated Cloud — a version of the platform tailored for organizations that need a fully isolated environment aligned with their own compliance and security requirements.
Platform Apps
To extend the platform’s capabilities, Platform Apps have been introduced — preconfigured functionalities that adapt to the goals of each team.
These aren’t just “extras”, they’re essential building blocks that allow the Teamwork Graph to function effectively, giving every team a strong foundation.
Some are already familiar, like Teams or Analytics, while others are newly launched or now in general availability, such as Home or Goals. We’ll be breaking them down over time.
Atlassian Rovo, for everyone
At Team ’24 in Las Vegas, the arrival of Rovo was the most celebrated announcement. Atlassian already had Atlassian Intelligence, its AI engine woven into the ecosystem. But Rovo takes it further, connecting to any SaaS tool your company uses, beyond Atlassian products.
Until recently, only Premium and Enterprise customers could access Rovo’s search engine, interactive chat, or agent creation features. Not anymore!
Rovo is now generally available, free for all users, across all plans, with all features. This is where the magic of AI-team collaboration begins, and it should never be a paid privilege.
Premium and Enterprise users will start seeing it roll out first, with Standard following right behind. Rovo now includes 3 core apps; Search, Chat, and Studio + a suite of Agents:
🔎Rovo Search
Search across any SaaS tool in your organization. This massively improves data connectivity between platforms. It now supports Confluence Data Center, with Jira Data Center coming soon.
There are already 50+ connectors available.
Rovo returns intelligent, easy-to-understand responses.
🗣️Rovo Chat
Chat with Rovo anytime, from Jira, Confluence, your browser, even Google Docs. It provides tailored answers based on your profile and expert guidance.
Now it can even return results as charts and tables, and it has memory, up to 90 days, so your previous searches enhance future ones.
🥷Rovo Agents
Atlassian already offers 30+ pre-built agents, and you can create as many as you like. These agents can solve complex problems and automate repetitive tasks.
Among the most anticipated: the Rovo Dev Agents, now in beta, helping developers generate code, plan sprints, review pull requests, perform bulk updates, and more.
🖌️🆕Rovo Studio
A new centralized space to create agents, automation rules, assets, and more, all with no-code simplicity.
[NEW] Collections
One of the big reveals: Collections, packages of apps and AI agents tailored for specific needs. Two were already announced:
Teamwork collection
Designed to accelerate team collaboration, this combines Jira, Confluence, Loom, and Rovo. It breaks silos between business and tech teams with AI-powered support.
Includes specialized agents like the ‘Workflow Builder’, which lets you build workflows using natural language.
Strategy collection
Built for strategic roles needing organization-wide visibility. Combines Focus, Talent, and Jira Align.
We first knew Focus at Team ’24 Europe in Barcelona. It’s now in general availability.
Talent, a new app for resource management, makes a strong debut.
And for Jira Align users — you can try the Strategy Collection at no extra cost.
Of course, there were plenty of new features announced for each of the applications in the ecosystem, here’s a summary of the most important ones:
Jira
Jira is for every team — all sizes, all types. Recent changes aim to make it a central, collaborative space. New features include:
[NEW] Project custom templates: Save your project setup as a template for reuse.
- [NEW] List View: Now more flexible, drag and drop items, inline editing, filtering, etc.
- [NEW] Public Forms: Forms are now available to non-licensed users, with better customization options for request types.
More UI changes are coming — including item views and nested comments.
We were still getting used to the new “Work Items” and the updated navigation interface — but progress in Jira Cloud moves fast, so don’t get left behind! You’ll notice the navigation and item views continue to evolve, and many of the improvements will surprise you — like threaded comments, for example.
Jira Service Management
This year’s focus: using JSM beyond IT teams. Atlassian is making that easier with:
[NEW] HRSM Capabilities: 29 new request types, tailored dashboards for HR, and Rovo agents to speed up onboarding and other HR workflows.
[NEW] Customer Service Management (CSM): A new app, now in beta, that enhances customer support. It includes AI agents accessible from both the help portal and external sites, plus simplified configuration options.
Jira Product Discovery
This app is evolving rapidly as its fanbase grows. Two standout updates:
[NEW] Roadmaps: Premium JPD now includes a visual roadmap view, showing dependencies and aligning ideas with goals.
- [NEW] Ship Your Idea Contest: Got a great feature idea for JPD? Submit it, and Atlassian might build it. The winning idea will be presented at Team ’25 Europe in Barcelona this October.
Confluence
You’ll soon notice a wave of AI-powered enhancements: content generation, translations, page creation suggestions, macro improvements — plus usability updates like a comment panel and streamlined action menus.
And yes… Live Docs have arrived (in beta). Head over to your Confluence space and start exploring this new collaborative experience.
Loom
Since acquiring Loom, Atlassian has deeply integrated it into the ecosystem, now powered by AI.
It records your meetings on Zoom, Teams, or Meet; edits the video; extracts notes; builds Confluence pages with summaries and action points, and more.
Trello
Trello is back in the spotlight. Atlassian has repositioned it as the go-to personal productivity app.
One major release:
[NEW] Trello Planner: Plan your board tasks directly in a calendar view. It’s never been easier.
Atlassian Community
Just before Team ’25, Atlassian unveiled a new Community experience, now featuring forums, learning, and events, all champion-supported.
New user profiles, smoother navigation, and major improvements in Atlassian Learning (formerly University).
