Atlassian Government Cloud has achieved FedRAMP moderate Authorization

On March 17, 2025, Atlassian officially achieved FedRAMP Moderate Authorization for its Government Cloud, marking a major milestone in Cloud Security and compliance for U.S. federal agencies and regulated industries.

This means government organization and their partners can now safely use Atlassian´s Cloud-based collaboration tools while meeting strict security standards.

What is FedRAMP, and why does it matter?

Let me give you some context here. The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) was established in 2011 to provide a standardized, cost-effective and security-focused approach to Cloud service adoption and use by the federal government.

So far, many major software companies – Cisco, Microsoft Azure, Google Workspace, VMware have achieved FedRAMP authorization. Now, it was Atlassian´s turn to step up and demonstrate its capabilities as a trusted, strategic partner for U.S. government agencies.

By earning FedRAMP authorization, Atlassian ensures its cloud products meet the rigorous security and compliance requirements necessary to support federal organizations. This milestone opens the door for greater collaboration, efficiency, and innovation in the public sector, while maintaining the highest levels of security and trust.

Who Benefits from This?

This isn’t just great news for federal agencies—many organizations stand to gain from this milestone and will now be able to migrate from Data Center to Atlassian Cloud:

Federal, State, and Local Government Agencies – Now they can securely move to the cloud without worrying about compliance.
Government Contractors and Vendors – Companies working with the government can confidently use Atlassian’s tools while staying within security requirements.
Regulated Industries (Finance, Healthcare, Defense, etc.) – Businesses handling sensitive data can now trust Atlassian’s cloud solutions to keep their information secure.
